Ogee Crystal Contour Collection Review

I’ve been seeing Ogee’s Crystal Contour Collection popping up all over my feed the last two months. With a sleek outer white packaging adorned with gold decals, this brand screamed luxury at me and I was intrigued immediately. I was pleasantly surprised when they reached out to me and asked if I was interested in trying out their hero collection in exchange for content – an opportunity I rarely ever turn down.

Ogee Crystal Contour Collection

Ogee’s Crystal Contour Collection set features 3 shades of their sculpted face sticks in Opal, Rose Quartz, and Copper. From highlight, blush, to bronzer, this set has everything you need to get your complexion glow game on! Each sculpted face stick retails for $52 USD with 8g of product, but you can get the full set in a limited edition bag for $126 USD with $30 USD in savings.

One of my favourite things I look out for in a beauty brand is their social causes and ingredients. Ogee aims to create their beauty products from clean organic and vegan friendly ingredients, striving to utilize organic botanicals. A lot of their offerings are from plant powered ingredients, so putting their formulas to the test in terms of performance was a trial as I have a high standard for luxury brands.

Each shade looked beautiful and flawless in their tubes – the applicator looked wide and was perfect for a full face application, yet versatile so I could use the blush on my lips or dab the bronzer on the outer corner of my eyes as a light shadow. The cap is a magnetic enclosure to ensure the product is closed properly and you can feel quite a bit of weight in each tube. I was obsessed with the presentation by design alone.

When it came to application, I did struggle with the formula. You can see my application tutorial above – I prefer blending with brushes when it comes to cream formula, but you can also blend out Ogee’s Crystal Contour Collection with your fingers or a sponge.

Ogee Sculpted Face Stick Cream Highlighter in Opal

OPAL – The highlight shade had an ivory based with small reflects of shimmer. When swatching this shade, it came out almost translucent with no shade but more of a glow and shimmer effect. The finish had an icy effect to it with the glow reminding me of the light reflect you get from an opal stone. Infused with Green Coffee Oil to stimulate collagen, Sal Tree Resin to refine the appearance of pores, and Organic Tapioca powder to smooth the appearance of skin and absorb excess oils, Opal applied seamlessly onto the skin and blended out into a soft glow.

Ogee Sculpted Face Stick Cream Blush in Rose Quartz

ROSE QUARTZ – A staple matte rose blush shade, there wasn’t anything particularly special about this shade, it seemed ‘universal’ and a safe colour to have in a kit. I found it went onto the skin smoothly but when I blended out the blush, it took awhile melting into the skin. Once fully blended, most of the colour fades away and I had to layer this on to achieve the pigmentation I was looking for.

Ogee Sculpted Face Stick Cream Bronzer in Copper

COPPER – I found Copper the hardest shade to work within the bunch. It’s a lovely neutral bronzer albeit on the lighter side, those with a deeper complexion may not be able to use this shade at all. It struggled to glide across my skin and I had to go over while applying my swatch. The formula clung to dry patches and left streaks. Blending out was also tricky as it almost left stains where I initially applied the product and blended out patchy. Overall, this shade was disappointing to work with.

Ogee Crystal Contour Collection

If I had to rate the entire kit together I would give this collection 3.5/5 stars as I found there were variations in the formula. For a luxury brand, my expectations were much higher considering the price point of how the formula performed. I think Ogee’s Crystal Contour Collection looks aesthetically pleasing and luxurious, and I would definitely recommend the highlight and blush as a standalone product, but would stay away from the bronzer.

While these are beautiful to look at and would sit elegantly on your vanity, if you’re focused more on performance this may be a miss for you. I’d love to see more innovation come from Ogee, highlighting performance as their ingredient list is quite impressive and I love that they strive for organic choices.
